Serapo Beach (Hotel Mirasole's beach)

Right in front of the hotel — a convenient, beautiful enclosed bay.

  • Lido Aurora / Marina di Serapo 1995: sunbed sets reserved (~€25/set — confirm 2026 pricing).
  • Free public beach (Il Fannullone) is adjacent — split between paid sunbeds and free beach side by side.

Spiaggia di Fontania

About 10 minutes by bike from Hotel Mirasole — flat, easy ride. Quieter than Serapo, with beautiful water.

⛵ Private Boat Charter — June 19

Booked via Gaeta Escursioni — a private charter for all 13 of us. Sea caves (Grotta del Turco), coastal grottos & swimming stops. ~4 hours (9:30 am–1:30 pm).

On board: snorkeling gear, a bathroom, a freshwater shower to rinse off salt, a sun awning for shade, and floating pool noodles for the kids.

⛪ Sanctuary of Montagna Spaccata

  • The unmissable Gaeta landmark — a cliff split by a miracle, with a chapel built inside.
  • 10–15 minutes on foot south of Hotel Mirasole — flat, easy walk.
  • Open Thursday–Saturday (fits our dates). Free entry, small donation appreciated.
  • Incredible views of the Tyrrhenian Sea from the terrace.

🏰 Gaeta Old Town

  • Medieval quarter — the sea is visible on both sides as you walk through; beautiful at any hour.
  • Cathedral of St. Erasmus in the old town.
  • Parco Regionale Riviera di Ulisse — coastal park with Roman villa ruins and a small hidden beach.

🚲 Bikes

  • Caneschi Shop — backup option.
  • The flat lungomare promenade is perfect for a casual family ride.
  • Spiaggia di Fontania is a 10-minute flat ride from the hotel.

🌳 Monte Orlando Park

  • Scenic headland park with a hiking trail past Roman ruins, a lighthouse & dramatic clifftop sea views.
  • At the top: the Mausoleum of Lucius Munatius Plancus, a striking ancient Roman tomb.
  • Up-and-down terrain — wear sturdy shoes; fine for reasonably active kids. Free, open 24 hours.

🌅 Day Trip: Sperlonga

  • A gleaming white-washed seaside town ~20–25 min away — even more polished than Gaeta for a late-afternoon stroll.
  • Great option if the group wants an easy outing beyond the beach.
